ITAM
is the leading university in Mexico in social sciences, management
and engineering. It has a student population of 5000, all of
them at a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree
level. ITAM University graduates are invariably accepted in
leading overseas master’s degree programs, and many have
reached important positions, both in the private the public
sectors. Former ITAM students can be found in leading corporations,
academic institutions and Government.
ITAM is a non-profit organization, founded in 1946 by Mr. Raúl
Bailleres and the Asociación Mexicana de Cultura, A.C.
In order to sustain the high academic level of the institution,
the Research and Graduated Studies was created. This institution
features the Center of Economic Analysis and Research, The Center
for Studies on Public Policy, the Center for Studies on Competitiveness,
the Center for Studies on Public and Private Law and several
research activities carried out by the professors are sponsored
through donations.
Even though -higher education is the main philanthropic activity
of Bal Group, this consortium also supports a variety of initiatives
and programs that reflect the commitment of the Group towards
Mexico’s development.
